Certified anesthesiologist assistants (CAAs) are master's-trained anesthesia providers who always work under the direction of an anesthesiologist, in an anesthesia care team. Unlike CRNAs, you don't need to be a nurse or have ICU experience: most applicants come from a premedical science background. See CRNA vs anesthesiologist assistant.
